My oldest daughter is an old soul. She appreciates music from present time but also likes older music. In fact she is a Beatle freak. I had been telling her about how there was such an experience back in the day of LPs and turntables. The sounds, the lyric sheets, and the album covers were so well done. I remember buying an album and putting it on while I looked at the album and any bonus material that came with it.
I guess since she seemed interested so her Mother and I bought her a record player from target. We also bought her a re-release Abbey Road LP. I may have gotten carried away though. I took her the Half Price Books and started going through the albums. While the selection was not huge I found many great albums. I was literally a kid in the candy store. I found some great ones, I re-lived my youth in music. Some of the albums I bought probably before, just 30 years ago. ![]()
As a bonus, can you figure out what albums are in this toon? I bought several Beatles albums, some Eagles, The Mamas and Papas, Roy Orbison, The Guess Who, Wings, Don McLean, Billy Joel, CS&N, Eddie Money, Jethro Tull and a couple others. I had to finally to just walk away. Hopefully she will enjoy listening to the music as much as I did selecting it. The cool thing is, some modern bands are actually releasing their new releases on Vinyl these days.

It really does helps when our wives understand that we can’t help it.
