This weekend I bought a new laptop to replace my old aging one. It has been getting worse and worse lately so I knew it’s days were numbered. Well, tonight I had only a handful of files to transfer and all off the sudden the old laptop will not reboot. It only beeps at me. So unlike the cartoon it did not catch on fire or give me a BSOD. BSOD for you non-geeks is the blue screen of death that used to be common place. Oddly as an IT person this is not uncommon to have issue with a computer as it’s been replaced. It’s as if the PC somehow knows. Even if I can’t get the old laptop running again i do have ways to retrieve the files as I’m certain the hard drive is fine. There are many advantages to being a geek.
I apologize for the quaility of this toon. Frankly I’m not feeling well at all. I’m going to make an appointment with my doctor first thing Tuesday morning. Yes, I’m a typical guy when it comes to doctors, so you know I feel rotten for even considering going.
