But You Love Doing That Stuff
Let me get the excuses over with first. I was short on time and ideas for this toon. Then when I had it all finished I had system issue that corrupted the file, so I had to re-do it.
Anyway, it is funny how people think we IT geeks love PCs so much we want to spend our spare time working on PCs. OK, i do spend my time doing that, but my own PCs. I have successfully educated everyone as I meet them. When folks find out what I do there is a spark in their eye until I set them straight. My favorite shirt to wear is my “No, I will not fix your computer shirt”. I make sure everyone sees me in it at some point.

Just say:
“Sure, I’d love to take a look at your computer! By the way, I charge $20/hour.”
Amazing how it shuts them off. If it doesn’t, and you still don’t want to, raise your rate next time.

That’s really kind of funny when you consider if a guy drives a truck he would think you were crazy if you wanted him to come over and haul around some stuff for free.
