Marriage is tough sometimes. There will always be issues and backgrounds that will remain separated for a husband and a wife. I say that but really mine has been fairly easy the first 15 years. My wife and I do have much different backgrounds. While we grew up with completely different religions we now agree nearly completely. I was also lucky to find her as she is one of the few native Texans with similar political beliefs as me. While my wife used to be more of a Mac person, economics made it easier for both of us to be PC people.
In real life I will rarely give advice on relationships, much less marriage. The truth is I lucked out and had the good sense to marry my wife when I got to know her. I think the plain and simple secret to a successful marriage is marrying the right person.
A work friend suggested I do a Mac vs. PC cartoon. So this is my attempt at it. I don’t want to stir things up too much with a Mac vs. PC joke, although it can be fun. So when I do Mac jokes I prefer to joke in a larger sense about the community differences rather than specific hardware differences. As I have said many times before I would likely own a Mac if the mark-up was not so high. It is funny how much the whole Mac vs. PC discussions can be every bit as bitter as Democrat vs. Republican and many more of the “classic” vs. debates.
I experimented a little bit on today’s cartoon. I tried a soften effect on the background and like the way it looked. I also tried a very subtle highlight on the sunglasses on the Geek as well. It’s hardly noticeable but I like the effect. I’m trying to add a few more dark lines than I usually do. I like the way the dark lines look but it is a balance on using them. I looked back at my archive and there are some toons I heavily used black lines as part of the shading and see now days I hardly use it. I really think my old style was better so I’m trying to recapture some of it back.

There’s also the Coke vs. Pepsi debate, but again, that’s something the children will have to figure out on their own!
OK, I’m sorry this is a cartoon site where I try to make with the funny. I just won’t bring up such seriuos discussions as Coke vs. Pepsi. BTW, the correct answer is Coke.
Have you ever seen how kids dress? Is it really good to leave the big decisions up to them? Just something to think about. Great comic and great blog to go along with it. Keep up the good work.
Kids today don’t make dessions they whime and cry untill you give in and make them for them. So good luck with that.
