Hood Of Shame

Hood Of Shame

If you follow this site you’ll know I had some recent issues with my old website host. After years of poor service I made the leap and found a new host. I was a bit concerned as the site had gone so big and complicated I was nervous about making the move. In the course of placing the order with the new host I discovered they would do the migration for me for a fee. While the fee wasn’t exactly cheap I decided it was worth the cost. To add to the complexity my old host had been so up and down I wasn’t fully sure I had a good backup of everything.

I do feel I could have done the migration myself, I’ve certainly have done more complicated tasks in my career. For once I wanted to have an expert do something for me and I could be sure it was done right. Who knows had I done it I may have done it quickly and right the first time. However, I could have easily spent the entire weekend working on it just as easily. The older I get the more I’m in favor of letting experts do their thing and I’m content to do the things I do best. In this case using my credit card was the best skill for me to use.

It was so against my nature to pay someone to do something I could do myself, but I must say I’m pleased how quickly they did the migration and it was nearly flawless. There was a couple of text formatting issues on the database transfer but I can live with that and correct as time goes on. I’m glad I paid for the migration but do feel less of a geek because of it. I enjoyed making today’s cartoon, it was fun playing with drawing the hoody, not sure if I pulled it off but think you cam tell what it was supposed to be.

HAH! Sometimes the ease and convenience is worth EVERY penny. Don’t sweat it with a Hood of Shame. Flaunt it with a top hat and monocle!

  2. Bo Lumpkin says:

I am truly shocked. That’s like having Hank the Handy Man call a plumber to unclog his toilet. Just kidding. I don’t blame you one bit.
