Over the years I have had this sort of thing happen. Anymore I ask a lot of questions before I implement any new hardware. I’m not harsh but I do like them to think it out. Usually the idea they had just turns out to not be exactly what they want, they get bored, or it’s more complicated than they are willing attempt to use. The current staff I work with is not that bad at that kind of stuff. So this sort of thng is fairly rare, but it still happens some. I love special projects if people will use them. 
A question we must ask ourselves often, “You got what you wanted. Now do you want what you got?”
