If you have been reading this page you know my last 4 toons have been based on the family’s vacation in Estes Park, CO. The rocky Mountains were awesome as usual! We drove this time and I really enjoyed it. I had never been to the Texas Pan Handle before. I was warned is was desolate, and of course it was. I can’t say though that it wasn’t interesting though. It really is something to see if you have not seen it before and has a certain beauty to it. The only problem with that part of Texas is the same view mile after mile.
While looking at the mountains I thought that with some of the surreal beauty it was not hard to believe that this all was created by God. I then thought that if you viewed west Texas for a long time it would be easy to believe just the opposite. Don’t worry my faith in God is still there, He seems to like variety in His creations though, doesn’t He?

As a expert from West Texas your drawing is totally wrong. At this time of year
there is NO green in West Texas or the Panhandle. Maybe you sleep through that
part of Texas.
Alamogordo, NM. Never seen any place uglier in my life, although I have not been to west Texas. We decided Alamogordo is where mobile homes go to die. Tourist attractions were mostly advertising “Live Rattlesnakes”. Thanks for the warning.
Well there were small splashes of green, but you are right. The picture was just too God forsaken without some more color. At least the wind powered generators broke up some of the landscape and gave us something else to look at.
