This was not the cartoon I envisioned for today but being on vacation I had to simplify it. We are on vacation in Colorado and we have been hiking alot. Between the high altitude and being very out of shape some of the trails have been tough. Our first real day of hiking we went up Trail Ridge Road which goes over the continental divide. One spot you can hike off the road is at it’s highest it is over 12,000 ft. or 2.3 miles above sea level. One older couple did pass the 4 of us. As they passed I heard the husband say something about how this is how they were celebrating her 70 birthday.
I put 80 in the toon because I thought that would be funnier. We passed them a bit later and actually beat them to the top, barely! My 2 kids and wife did good. My kids are 8 and 11 and my wife is almost my age. Proud of all of them. Today we did even a tougher hike. We are still slow but we are adjusting to the elevation at least. Today we are white water rafting.
