   When you weight the need and the maturity of a kid what is the right age for a kid to get a cellphone? We used many factors to determine for our kids what the right age was. The little one got lucky because my wife wanted an upgraded phone. You know how cellphone companies work deals, it worked best to add another line and just transfer my wife’s old phone to a new number. In truth when we say the kids have cellphones, they have a phone assigned to them. They are not allowed to use them all of the time. Mostly they get to use them on particular occasionsthat we, the parents, get to designate. Even the 11 year old, who is responsible and mature will have to wait before she has the access to her phome she really wants. I do have to give credit for the gag in today’s cartoon to my wife. She was actually making fun of herself when telling someone the factors in determining if our youngest was ready for a cellphone.
My wife and I were just discussing this yesterday. She wants a new phone, so my daughter may get rewarded with her old one.
