Friday Bonus Toon, Then and Now Disk Drives

Anybody out there remember those giant drives of yester-year? I only had a few customers that had the 300MB drives. Most had 25MB or 50MB drives. These were the size of washing machines and looked a bit like them as well. I remember one client that had 3 x 300 MB drives with removable packs and one 150MB fixed drive. That was the first time I saw a system with over 1 GB of drive space. Most laptops have more than 1GB of RAM these days. I don’t actually have a 64GB thumb drive but have seen them, I carry tiny 16GB version of the drive. :)

I miss my old 300Mb drives! It was the first ever hard drive I personally owned (cost me UK £1000). Before too long I had 6 of them and I used them as bookends. I still have them somewhere around… ahh memories.
