 Yes, the election is well over. And yes I still have my Obama bumper sticker on. It really does not make me too many friends around town as there are some folks still upset about the election. Heck, I can relate having had 8 long years of disappointment. I suppose I could remove the sticker but I enjoy the grief it causes some people, maybe I shouldn’t. I see other folks still with their Obama/Biden stickers on even here in right-wing Texas. However for every Obama sticker there are at least as many McCain/Palin stickers stickers around. Even more prevalent is the ‘W ‘ stickers that are still present everywhere! I imagine eventually someone will tear my Obama sticker off of my car which will be a shame as it was hard to come by here in this conservative state. This cartoon is as much political as it is about hanging on to things once they go past their prime.
I tend to think that bumper stickers are obnoxious in general. To think that there is something so important about oneself that you need to make sure all the other drivers on the road are aware of whatever that sticker says about you…
However, in this state, and in the profession of your choice where the automatic assumption is that if you are a Christian, then you are a Republican, I can hardly blame you.
On a related note…I saw a “W” bumper sticker the other day that under the W portion there were a few words (as is the trademark) that read “Thank You”. I still haven’t stopped laughing at that one…
