This was not the cartoon I planned on doing but it popped into my head and I had to go with it. I worked most of my IT career of 22+ years in the corporate world. For the last 5 years I have worked for a large church as the IT director. There are many things that have not changed between these two worlds as far as IT goes. However, there are some things I love working here. The pressure for one thing is off. Usually folks are patience and understanding. It is rare for someone to get really upset with you, at least and show it. I enjoy the spiritual side of this job, many meetings open and end with prayers. Every great once in a while I get a bit dissolution by some person or some circumstance because I have a higher standard I impose on people here. Turns out they are just as human as the corporate world, as am I. I’m probably the worst. I must say that although the pay is not nearly as high at a church as it would be for some other company out there, I have never had this high of satisfaction in a job, nor loved the people I work with so much.

I remember me in the cabinet more than you in the cabinet… I am flattered…
